The offer, in plain terms

The Government Contracting Academy is a self-paced online course that teaches the working process of selling to the government: how the market actually works, how to get registered in SAM.gov, how to find opportunities worth your time, how to use the government's own award data to see who is buying and at what prices, and how to put together a bid response that gets read.

It is a course, not a service. You watch the lessons, do the exercises, and work at your own pace. There are no live sessions, no calls, and no one doing the work for you — the Academy teaches you the process so you can run it in your own business.

Who it's for

  • Small business owners who want to sell to federal, state, or local government and don't know where to start
  • Early-stage government contractors who have registered (or tried to) but have no system for finding and choosing opportunities
  • Owners who want to learn from someone who is actively doing this work now — not from a course recorded years ago

Who it's not for

  • Anyone looking for a done-for-you service, introductions, or contract guarantees — this course offers none of those
  • Anyone who needs legal, tax, or financial advice — this is general education, not professional advice (see the disclaimer below)

Curriculum — what's inside

Four video modules, about 46 minutes of instruction total, plus exercises and worksheets built into the lessons:

Module 1 — Foundations: What Government Contracting Is (and How a Small Business Gets In) · 24 min · free
How government contracting actually works and how the money moves; set-asides in plain English; contract types decoded; who buys what; the three codes that run everything (NAICS and related identifiers); a readiness self-check; and your first homework: getting into SAM.gov and defining your three offerings.

Module 2 — SAM.gov Mastery: Finding Opportunities Worth Your Time · 8 min
A working tour of SAM.gov: the dashboard, searching like a professional instead of an amateur, dissecting an RFQ with a five-point read, how RFPs differ, the compliance basics that decide everything, and a field exercise that puts a real opportunity on trial.

Module 3 — Award Intelligence: SAM.gov Contract Data · 6 min
The government's award data is public — this module teaches you to use it. Who is buying, who is winning, and at what prices, searched inside SAM.gov's Contract Data (the award search that replaced the retired FPDS.gov). A guided field mission: find three buyers, three vendors, and one realistic price range for work like yours.

Module 4 — Proposals: The RFQ Response Blueprint · 9 min
How a professional works an opportunity from first read to submitted response: the RFQ response blueprint, the eight bid killers that knock out most small-business responses, an honest look at the tools, and the launch sequence for your next steps after the course.

Also included:

  • Bid / proposal template — an 8-section working document (executive summary, company overview, technical approach, management plan, past performance, pricing, certifications, attachments) you fill in for your own bids
  • Compliance checklist — a 10-item Yes/No checklist covering the registrations and requirements that trip up first-time bidders

Total: ~46 minutes of video · exercises and worksheets in the lessons · lifetime access · learn entirely at your own pace

In about 24 minutes you'll learn what government contracting actually is, how the money moves, what set-asides mean in plain English, which contract types matter to a small business, and whether your business is ready — plus the first two homework steps: getting into SAM.gov and naming the three offerings you'll sell.

About your instructor

The Academy is taught by Edmund Sowah, founder of Ed & Leute LLC — a service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) and Texas VetHUB certified firm in Arlington, Texas. Ed is an active government contractor: Ed & Leute holds a GSA Schedule contract and bids and performs government work every week. The Academy teaches the same process his own company uses — getting registered, finding real opportunities, reading the award data, and responding with discipline.
