Ed & Leute UV-C Air Disinfection — Validated in a Working Laboratory
Ed & Leute’s UV-C upper-room air disinfection line was evaluated by an independent third-party laboratory under real operating conditions. Rather than a controlled bench test, the unit was deployed as the sole air-disinfection safeguard inside an active facility performing highly contamination-sensitive work — plant tissue culture, mycology, DNA analysis, and cultivation. The results below are drawn directly from that independent evaluation.
|
100%
sterile-work success rate after deployment — zero contamination events reported
|
Validation Results
| Measure | Result |
|---|---|
| Sterile-work success rate after deployment | 100% (no contamination events) |
| Prior baseline (conventional safeguards) | Occasional contaminated vessels during high-volume sterile work |
| Test space | 22 ft × 14 ft × 10.5 ft (approx. 3,234 cu ft) |
| Operating mode | Continuous, during occupied workflow |
| Effect on work environment | Noticeably quieter operation; no workflow interruption; no staff-safety compromise reported |
Methodology (Plain English)
- The independent laboratory installed a wall-mounted UV-C air-disinfection unit — representative of the UV-C technology used across this product line — in a room measuring 22 ft long × 14 ft wide × 10.5 ft high.
- To isolate the unit’s performance, the facility deactivated its existing safeguards — HEPA filtration, hardwired UV-C ducting, and the associated timers — leaving the UV-C unit as the sole air-disinfection measure.
- The laboratory continued its normal high-volume routine of testing and sterile transfers, expecting a higher margin of error under the reduced safeguards.
- Contamination outcomes were tracked against the facility’s prior baseline, in which contaminated vessels occasionally occurred.
“Since implementing the UV-C system, we have seen a 100% success rate in all of our sterile work … the ability to maintain a sterile environment continuously, without interrupting workflow or compromising staff safety, represents a significant advancement in sterilization technology.”
Results reflect an independent third-party evaluation conducted under real operating conditions in a single working facility; performance in other environments will vary with room size, airflow, occupancy, and use.
